Gary Schyvinch

Tractor Type:

IH 1466

Tractor Name:

New Attitude

Bio:

Gary Schyvinch started his pulling advantage on an Allis Chalmers tractor that his father let him take to his first pull. Gary’s love for International came in 1974 when he bought a 966-brand new. Not long after, he bought a 1466 at an auction that he had to buy after hearing it run with a straight chrome stack and it became his first super farm tractor. In those days, Gary would pull his tractor on the weekends and do field work during the week. Gary’s first winning season came with the Badger State Tractor Pullers (BSTP) with his name being the second one on the Super Farm traveling trophy. Gary then saw the need for more pulling sleds in the sport and being on the tractor side, where he took a 30 year break where he ran his own sled “Attitude Adjuster”. He became the president of Pullers Incorporated for many years being a a neutral party of the sport. This is where many friends let Gary get back on the seat in the Super Farm category to scratch his itch. In 2014, Gary’s need to just scratch that itch even more and went and purchased what is now “New Attitude”. Although the only thing left on the tractor from his purchase is the steering wheel today, it became the foundation of a Grand National winning Super Farm. Gary’s achievements include a 2019 PI Champ, NTPA Grand National Championship in 2022, first Grand National win at Bowling Green, Sweeping the weekend at Tomah with two wins, winning a session and taking second in the finals at the National Farm Machinery Show in Louisville, KY, and winning the Enderle Pull-off. All of these achievements mean great things to Gary but the thing he appreciates most is seeing the smoke fly out of the stack at the start line and talking with the competitors and role of the crowd.
