Bio:
David Affeldt, a resident of Markesan, Wisconsin, is a self-employed agricultural engineer with a deep-rooted passion for truck pulling. His connection to the sport runs in the family, as his father was pulling tractors even before he was born. That early exposure laid the foundation for a career that would span more than three decades.
David made his first official pull in 1992, competing in the Stock Class at the Green Lake County Fair. Inspired by his neighbor, Dick Guderski, who pulled a truck, he quickly found himself drawn to the thrill and challenge of the sport. What began as a single pull soon grew into a lifelong pursuit fueled by hard work, innovation, and determination.
Over his 33 years in truck pulling, David has competed with several notable vehicles, including a 1952 Chevy known as Bam Bam, a 1972 Chevy called Wild One, a 1989 GMC named Weighted Expectations, and a 1985 GMCnicknamed OOFDA. Today, he competes across multiple classes, including the Stock class, Altered Small Block, Open Stock, Super Stock, and Modified.
David is motivated by the thrill of competition and the satisfaction that comes from continuously improving his trucks. For him, pulling is as much about innovation and progress as it is about performance on the track. One of his favorite aspects of the sport is the opportunity to meet new people and build lasting connections within the pulling community.
